We are the collection of HBCU golfers who share the experience of playing collegiate golf and graduating HBCU’s. We are providing resources, scholarships, and opportunities for incoming and present HBCU golfers.

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Kennedi Lee

North Carolina A&T State University

Kennedi Lee is a junior at North Carolina A&T State University and comes to Aggieland after transferring from fellow HBCU Texas Southern. She started to become one of TSU’s top golfers and led Texas Southern Tigers to the conference championship by finishing second. She helped the Tigers win the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) title by finishing second overall with a three-round 16-over 232.Congratulations Kennedi and we look forward to watching you continuing to strive for excellence and growing the game of golf!

 

 

Bryson Hannah

Alabama A&M University

Bryson Hannah is a mechanical engineering major at Alabama A&M. He finished his freshman year with a 4.0.”The game of golf has opened not one, but multiple doors for me that I do not think would have been opened without the game of golf”. He is eager to grow the game of golf by learning about investments so he can initiate his own nonprofit to expose the game to kids at an early age. We are proud to support Bryson in his scholastic and golf journey!

Tyler Thomas

Winston-Salem State University

Tyler Thomas is a Chicago native and a collegiate golfer at Winston-Salem State University. He’s stated, “The game of golf has given me the skill of networking that I do not feel I could have learned as efficiently without golf. Golf has provided me with many opportunities that I could have never imagined coming from a city where golf is not a popular sport.” He has a strong work ethic and drive to be a scratch player and better student within the next 12 months. Tyler strives to become a professional golfer post graduation and we look forward to watching him prosper!

Kendall Jackson

Howard University

Kendall Jackson is a Texas native who has made her mark in the collegiate golf world at Howard University. The University reignited its golf programs after a generous donation from the NBA superstar, Stephen Curry. She holds the PHS record with a round of 67. This was Howard University’s inaugural women’s golf class in 2022. We will keep cheering Kendall on as she continues to excel and throve at Howard University!

Rondarius Walter

Prairie View A&M University

Rondarius Walter is a Texas native who is a senior graduating with a degree in business management. Rondarius decided to pursue a collegiate career in golf following his father’s and 2 older brother’s foot steps. Golf has driven Rondarius to continue to strive for excellence and pish to achieve his goals. “Golf has also taught me so many impactful lessons that I carry with me, such as: people skills, leadership, honesty, respect.” Rondarius enjoys videography and has aspirations of playing golf professionally and developing his real estate portfolio with his brother. We look forward to aiding and watching you be an advocate for the game!

“We are excited for the return of our golf programs and Men’s tennis,” Director of Athletics Roman Banks said. “Golf is a sport that’s popularity is on the rise, this will create an opportunity for another group of student-athletes to not only compete at the next level at SU but have a chance to get a great education.” “We have a rich history and tradition, and we are very excited to bring these three sports back to the bluff.”

Eastside Golf, the lifestyle golf brand founded in 2019, recently closed a $3.4 million seed round led by EP Golf Ventures, a partnership between the PGA of America and Elysian Park Ventures. The investment aims to accelerate Eastside Golf’s growth and redefine the cultural perception of golf.
